The five winners of the second edition of the Plastics Recycling Awards India were announced during the Plastics Recycling Show India (PRS India) held in Mumbai from 13-15 November 2025. The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding innovation and achievement in plastics recycling from every part of the value chain In India including community recycling initiatives, recycled plastic products, the best plastics recycling company and the prestigious title of Plastics Recycling Ambassador.
Winners of the Best Community Effort for Recycling Award are Garbage Free India, Har Ghar Hara Ghar and Clean Mumbai Foundation for the Milk Bag Project. This citizen-led initiative addresses plastic milk bag waste by teaching people to cut, clean, and collect them for recycling. Since 2019, it has diverted over 2.5 million milk bags from landfills, expanded to multiple cities, and created a scalable, community-driven model for sustainable waste management.
The Plastics Recycling Company Award was awarded to Green Worms Waste Management. The UNESCO-recognized social enterprise founded by Jabir Karat tackles India’s waste and poverty challenges through an inclusive, community-based model. Operating across multiple states, it manages 200+ tons of waste daily, serves 1.5 million households, and provides dignified livelihoods, turning waste into circular economy growth, social inclusion, and climate action.
Packem Umasree won the Recycled Plastic Product Award for its 100% Sustainable FIBC Bags made entirely from post-consumer recycled PET. These high-performance, recyclable bags reduce carbon footprint and provide industries with a durable alternative to virgin polypropylene. By enabling closed-loop circularity and industrial-scale rPET applications, the company is redefining PET’s role in global packaging.
The Technology and Innovation Award went to Padcare Labs for its 5D Sanitary Pad Recycling Technology, India’s first solution to safely recycle used sanitary pads. This patented five-step process disinfects, decolorizes, deodorizes, deactivates and recycles waste into reusable materials. It diverts non-biodegradable menstrual waste from landfills, cuts carbon emissions by up to 88%, and promotes circular economy and sustainable menstrual hygiene.

As Founder and CEO of NEPRA, he has built a sustainability ecosystem spanning recycling, ESG, compliance, EPC projects, and AI-driven sorting technologies.
