Prof. N. C. Saha is an internationally acclaimed Professional with 38 years of rich experience in the field of Packaging Science & Technology. He was Former Director ( 2009-2019) at Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), the India’s premier Institute in Packaging under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India.. He obtained master’s in food technology from Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore, Ph. D in Packaging Management. An alumnus of School of Packaging, Michigan State University, USA as UNDP fellow and University of Tehran for Advanced Program in Productivity Concepts &Tools as a fellow of Asian Productivity Organization (APO).

He was Vice President of World Packaging Organization( 2015-2018) Secretary General ( 2013-2018) of Asian Packaging Federation (APF), Board Member of APEDA, Spices Board, FFDC, GS 1, CPPRI, FSSAI, MoFECC, MoFPI, Member Secretary, SAC, MOCI, Govt. of India.

Authored two books in “Food Packaging” for IGNOU, one book on “Packaging of Fragrance” for FFDC, Govt. of India, and latest book in “Food Packaging- materials, techniques and environmental issues” published by Springer in 2022. In addition, published 20 Research papers, more than 500 articles in Packaging and acquired one Patent on “Packaging Container made of Plastic laminated Tube for liquid jiggery” for the enhancement of shelf life up to 180 days. He was also the Editor for bi-monthly magazine, “Packaging India”. Former Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Packaging Technology and Research, by Springer Nature, Germany.
